A Roundup of A Bunch of Old Links I Had Lying Around Since 2020
Published:
I’m moving things into this site and I noticed that I had a few posts with interesting links I’ve come across. While they go all the way back to 2020, I thought I’d publish them here for you. I’ve posted an older roundup if you want to see that as well.
Nathan Allebach saved
almost every twitter meme template from over the years
Google Doc: 107 pages. Though I won’t forgive him for running Seak-umm’s Twitter account, this more than makes up for it. I’m inspired to try and make a website out of these.Did you know that kosher phones exist?
I should get some japanese stationary, especially these over-engineered mechanical pencils [VIDEO 12:54].
A non-capitalist solution to the housing crisis [VIDEO 16:02]. Seems like it switches the housing crisis from a lack of cash to a lack of connections since many people want cheap housing which is scarce. I think that we need a lot more housing both public and private where public housing serves as a way to keep carpenters busy and stabilize rent.
A pretty look at Nobel Prise winners. I didn’t know that one of the winners were forced to return the award.
Asynchronous reprojection is amazing![VIDEO 15:46] while it was designed for VR games, there’s no reason why it can’t be used in non-VR games since it drastically reduces computational requirements. From what I understand it makes responsiveness based on mouse movements rather than waiting for the GPU to render a frame.
Credit to 2kliksphilip for showing [VIDEO 7:30] Comrade Stinger’s [VIDEO 1:33] Asynch Timewarp Movement demo [ZIP ~27MB]. It’s a proof of concept so it isn’t perfect but it has so much potential and can be combined with other upscaling techniques.
Ghanaian anti-LGBT bill. This is not a fun topic, but I’m worried for queer people in Ghana. You might not be gay but you’ll be targeted even if you’re borderline apathetic to queers. I’ve very mean things to say to the Christian’s pushing these which will get me deplatformed from my host and DNS so I’ll say that you should address real problems instead.
Don’t know how to respond to this much like anyone could stop a Jewish pogrom so I’ll leave with two please. For western governments, spare the lecture and offer asylum. Companies who insist on commercializing should really look into how they can support the LGBT in places where it isn’t popular. They’re so proud of supporting them after all and it’s not just trying to subsume into the modern demands of capitalism right?
Not only do I have a lot of drafts begging to be published, I have also collected over a thousand links to go through. Sit tight!
