O’Mari’s Merchant Payments Is Rather Convenient

I’ve noticed that the POS machines at the supermarkets now list the mobile wallet type instead of assuming that you want to pay Ecocash. You can now pick if you want EcoCash, OneMoney, Telecash, InnBucks or O’Mari. I was shocked that O’mari charged me 10% for a POS payment (in another currency TBF, but still) and left me with $1 which I used to buy a drink.

I decided to use O’mari and instead of prompting for a PIN on my phone via USSD, it let me enter my pin directly on the POS machine. It was kinda weird, but oddly convenient.

Speaking of POS machines, I got one at work now from NMB. It’s kinda weird how it supports OneMoney and EcoCash by manually punching in a number which prompts the user. Problem is that it requires a NetOne or Econet SIM to work respectivley so it isn’t really interoperable.
