What The Fuck TikTok?

I decided to open a TikTok account to try and get my content to reach the youths and I fell into a bit of doomscrolling. Interestingly, I got some suggestions from “people you might know” and suprise, suprise—I actually know them which made me go “what the fuck”?
I didn’t share my contacts with them but I gave them my phone number since they break “Sign in with Apple ID”. Violates Apple’s TOCs, but who cares? Looks like said people must have shared their contacts so TikTok put two and two together.
I refuse to give them the satisfaction of them being right by following them despite how attractive the suggested people are. Besides, I don’t want them to know me.
Crazy way to get around privacy protections…
