King Richard

Oscar bait, but it had some good moments. A good look into how the William’s father trained them into great tennis players. It’s great that they put the film together to honor their dad.

It would be nice to get a movie from Serena and Venus’s perspective though igven that they’re great athletes.

I looked for some commentary on this and found two posts on note:

• What’s Fact and What’s Fiction in King Richard fact checks the movie. Funniest part is how Richard hired high schoolers to harass Venus and Serena. It’s mostly accurate, though Richard intentionally moved to a ghetto to “build character”.
• King Richard and reclaiming Richard Williams’s legacy looks at how they were treated by the media at the time. I’m including this here because the author had a lot of fun with Richard calling a 5'9" human woman a “tall, white turkey”.
