Remember Kony [VIDEO: 29:59].

A well put together documentary shone the light on the atrotious acts the LRA comitted, like recruiting child solidiers. I remember a few students at the school I went to did a lot of work trying to get us to #StopKony. Not sure how a bunch of kids in eSwatini would stop a guerilla army, but anyway.

As annoying as it was, it mobilized the AU to try and stamp them out and the US to help them, though it’s likley they had already planned to do that. Anyways, I got here after researching the 2020 DRC massacres (fuck 2020 hey) as the LRA (Kony’s army) was an ally to one of the perpatrators.

As of March 2020, Kony is probably hiding in Kafia Kingi, South Sudan, but his army is far weaker than it once was. It’s now focused on trying to survive rather than ruling Uganda. They’re still dangerous since they loot, abduct and and kill (abeit very few) people, but their mainly farming and selling honey. Makes me imagine all the people selling honey on the way to kumusha(the village) having once been a part of a terrorizing army.

I guess slacktivism does work. We should do this, but for climate change.
