Long pages of content can seem daunting, so to make them look shorter, designers and developers often reach for things that hide some of the content, such as accordions, tabs, carousels or a “reveal” widget. We’ll call these things ‘content-hiding interactions’.
But hiding content doesn’t solve this problem, and often creates further difficulties.
A good article which outlines why long pages aren’t bad and how to handle them. Main idea is to plan your content well, make it scannable with good headings, lead with something important and to test the pages. The main issue with hiding content is the cost of interactivity for the user and development work.
