Marx Failed To Predict Self-Imposed Crunch

Published:

I’ve almost finished reading Press Reset by Jason Schreier which looks into what happens to games developers after they release games. I’m still amazed at how video games get released at all. Honestly, the industry is due for some massive changes.

One interesting thing to note is that while the game industry incentivises crunch, publishers don’t have to outright say you should crunch. Given how driven game developers are, they’ll just do it.

I’m getting to the chapter which looks into solutions, but I’m sure Marx said something about this. I might just Photoshop a picture of a stressed out game dev on the cover of Das Kapital which I have not read.
