#19: Blogging vs. blog setups

I came across this and I feel seen, especially since I’ve spent so much time remaking my personal blog that I didn’t take the time to actually blog. I guess this puts me in the “moved from Jekyll to Hugo people” section.

The top left (many blog posts and few blog posts about elaborate blog set ups) is labelled “prolific peak of tools-don’t matter”. The examples are listed in order of the number of blog posts:

  1. WordPress setup from 2004,
  2. old-ass Blogger.com site,
  3. weird dude who writes raw HTML and
  4. that guy who never stopped using Tumblr.

Below that section is the bottom left section with low blog posts and low posts on elaborate setups are two sites. “Welcome to NGINX” with very low posts and very low posts on set up as well as “corporate blog with uneccessary continuous integration” with moderate posts and posts on elaborate blog set up.

The bottom right section is labelled “static gen basin” with low number of posts and high number of posts on elaborate blog setups. The sites are listed in order of the number of posts on elaborate blog set ups:

  1. Authors of custom static site generators with slightly less posts overall,
  2. “Moved from Jekyll to Hugo” people with a moderate number of posts overall,
  3. “My mobile git workflow” guy (with slightly more posts overall),
  4. ORG Mode fan, and
  5. Gatsby fan.

Finally in the top right is the site “Superhuman from that big FOSS project.
