A talk which goes over the importance of computing history using tech interviews as an example. His hypothesis given what he found was that in the 80s where C was very popular, a lot of data structured needed to be done manually, so the question is more like “can you use C”. Somehow this was later morphed to mean “can you think on your feet” thanks to Joel Spolsky (who worked in C# where making data structured isn’t necessary) and Gayle Lackmann McDonnel (who gave questions through her experience interviewing and being interviewed on low-level C).
