To The RSS Club: I Will Clobber You With Posts, Possibly After A Long Time Without Any

Published:

The plan was that I would try and schedule posts up until the end of the year. Once I actually got down to it, that turned out to be a daunting task, so instead I’ll adopt a “working draft” model to publishing content where I’ll publish something somewhat decent and improve it over time. Who knew you can edit content after you have published itβ€½

I usually get big bursts of creativity before they die down so I thought scheduling posts ahead of time would mitigate that and make it seem like I post consistently. Well, I’m not doing that anymore because I’m growing impatient and I think publishing my “hunches” would help solicit feedback, allowing me to improve my writing.

This seems like a sensible thing to me but a side effect of this would be that there are times you’ll be drowning in posts. It also makes the content management and information architecture of this site even harder to pull off. Like, how would you know the changes I have made? I’m thinking that I’ll note posts that have recently updated somewhere. I’ll also republish a post if I think it’s polished enough to bring it up to you again.

The one idea I have wanted to pull off is the idea of a digital garden, but that’s far more complicated than just dumping a chronological series of posts. Maybe this change will encourage me to give it another go?
