One annoying thing about Zimbabwe is that you’ve got to hustle in order to survive. Wages here are a joke and the only way you can make ends meet is to adopt #HustleCulture and sell, sell, sell! Despite my mom telling me that “I should start a business” even when I bring up something completely unrelated, I don’t want to do that since I have to do something I don’t enjoy, like sell imported wares.
One thing I like to do is go to the food markets over the weekend at Massdorp or Old Stables Market by the racecourse. I love seeing all the interesting things people make as well as the general atmosphere. The thing I’m annoyed with is just how expensive all the shit is.
I sometimes imagine adding an interesting stall like a pasta/noodle pop up, bubble tea, Italian hot chocolate, no bake cookies, crab Rangoon and the like. Thing is, when I buy ingredients to try making some things, they’re crazy expensive that I just wonder why I bothered.
